STUDYING 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA

Study of 20.000 leagues under the sea - cartography

We released the Map of Florida. We love it and we hope you will too, lots of love and dedication went into drawing it.

Catherine is now immersed in Hawaii geology and history. Day after day, notes and volcano sketches cover more of her desk, a bit like lava.

I embarked on a new project myself. Fascinated by sea creatures , I started thinking of a map that would feature them more prominently. As I was reading about the elusive giant squid (you’ve got to start somewhere right?), I thought of the novel 20,000 leagues under the sea that I never read, despite being French.
I got the book from the local library, and started reading. One page into the novel and there I was, taking notes: I had already stepped into a latitude and longitude coordinates orgy.
So I am now on a journey to produce a map dedicated to Jules Vernes’ 20,000 leagues under the sea.
A fitting exercise to go from “never read it” to “20,000 leagues exegete”!

Oli.
