This hand-drawn illustration biology plate showcases 7 different types of anemones commonly found in the Eastern Irish rockpools, as well as along the West coast of England and in the Northern British Isles.

Each anemone is identified with its scientific classification of Actinaria (Aktis=ray (shape), -aria=suffix). These anemones, including the actinia equina, actinia fragacea, anemonia viridis, sagartia elegans, urticina felina, aulactinia verrucosa, cereus pedunculatus, and actinothoe sphyrodeta, are easily identifiable for anyone on a rock pooling expedition.

The Actinaria print is part of a 4 print set featuring other marine life such as the Decapoda, Asterozoa, and Osteichthyes.

The paper is thick, be careful not to fold a corner while unboxing the map, which I did. Thankfully it' now hidden by the frame! The artwork is brilliant, all about natural aspects of the islands.
